Where We Design
A great journey doesn’t always fit neatly within one destination.
Sometimes it’s two weeks exploring different parts of Japan.
Sometimes it’s Switzerland by train.
Sometimes it’s a journey across several European countries, involving different transport systems, border crossings and very different places along the way.
At Epic Travel Designer, we design personalised journeys across Europe and Asia, including complex multi-city and multi-country travel.
We don’t begin with a list of destinations and ask you to choose a package.
We begin with where you want to go, how you want to travel and what you want the journey to feel like.
Then we work out how to bring it together.
DESTINATIONS WE KNOW PARTICULARLY WELL
Over the years, we’ve designed journeys across many parts of Europe and Asia.
Some destinations, however, are places we know particularly well.
They are places we’ve travelled extensively, returned to repeatedly, studied in depth and built considerable experience designing for our clients.
JAPAN
There is much more to Japan than the usual route.
Japan is a destination we return to again and again.
From Hokkaido and Tohoku to the Japanese Alps, Kansai, Shikoku and Kyushu, our experience extends well beyond the classic Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka journey.
That depth becomes particularly useful when designing more complicated routes, journeys for repeat visitors, self-drive holidays or trips combining trains, cars and other forms of transport.
Whether it’s your first journey to Japan or your sixth, we design around how you want to experience the country.
SWITZERLAND
A small country with a surprising number of ways to travel through it.
Switzerland can look deceptively simple on a map.
But designing a journey here involves far more than connecting one beautiful town to another.
Which bases make the most sense? How many nights should you spend in each place? Which scenic trains are worth building into the journey?
And then there are the Swiss travel passes.
Swiss Travel Pass. Half Fare Card. Regional passes. Individual tickets. Different combinations can make sense for different journeys.
Choosing the right travel pass can be an art in itself.
The best option depends on where you’re going, how often you’re travelling, which mountain excursions you’re taking and how the entire journey has been designed.
As a certified Switzerland Travel Expert and Swiss Travel System Excellence Expert, we combine specialist knowledge with extensive first-hand travel experience to design Switzerland journeys that make sense both on the map and on the ground.
TAIWAN
Where our story began.
Taiwan holds a special place in the story of Epic Travel Designer.
For more than a decade, we’ve designed personalised Taiwan journeys for families, couples and multi-generational travellers, from first-time visitors exploring the highlights to returning travellers looking for something different.
Our Taiwan journeys are presented through our dedicated Taiwan travel brand, Taiwan Free and Easy.
AND BEYOND
Our work isn’t limited to the destinations featured above.
We design journeys across Europe and Asia, including holidays that combine several countries in a single trip.
A journey might begin in Italy and end in Switzerland.
It might connect the Balkans with Central Europe.
Or it might combine cities, countryside, trains, private transfers and self-drive sections across a region.
